All-One Australia Initiative supports Eat Up
As part of the All-One Australia Initiative, in 2020 Dr. Bronner’s donated $7,042 AUD to Eat Up, a non-profit organisation which makes and delivers thousands of lunches a month to schools around Australia.
With a mission to feed hungry students so they can grow, learn and succeed, Eat Up is working hard to make sure the most vulnerable children in our community have the food they need to grow and make the most of learning opportunities.
The outbreak of Covid-19 has seen families and students face unimaginable challenges and increased food insecurity. With school closures and students learning remotely in 2020, Eat Up adapted its model to ensure students were able to access critical food supplies at home during the holidays with their families by delivering Emergency Food Boxes. Eat Up delivered these boxes at the end of the school year and each contained over 10kg of fresh fruit, vegetables, staples like cereal, bread, pasta, and sauce, a chocolaty treat and personal care items including Dr. Bronner’s Liquid Soap.
Dr. Bronner’s Australia also provided hundreds of Liquid Soaps and Hand Sanitizers which were gifted to teachers for their valuable contribution to the program, and ran a matching campaign to encourage our customers and supporters to donate money towards the Emergency Food Box program.
Throughout the year, Eat Up activates the generous help and lunch-making skills of a dedicated army of volunteers to achieve their mission of feeding hungry students and Dr. Bronner’s Australia is looking forward to joining the army this year. Eat Up will be coming into our office, bringing all ingredients and equipment, so we can spend a couple of hours making 1,000 sandwiches - we can’t wait to work together to fill some hungry tummies! Email eatup@eatup.org.au to enquire about a volunteer sandwich making event at your workplace. They also offer individual volunteer opportunities at public sandwich making events, as well as on-site sandwich making sessions for students in Grade 6 and upwards.
